Looking for IT support in Barry?

Most businesses in Barry are choosing between a one or two person outfit who are hard to reach when they are busy, and a national provider whose first line has never heard of you. There is a version in between, and this is what it looks like.

You can see the price before you ring

Three levels, per user per month.

The whole rate card is on the pricing page, all three levels, including what sits outside the monthly fee. No hourly billing and no call out charges. Almost nobody around here publishes a figure at all, which is what makes quotes so hard to line up against each other.

The people who answer do the work

Four of us, and you will deal with all four.

No offshore first line, no queue, and no account manager relaying messages to somebody you never speak to. Tom owns the business and still does the work, so if we audit your setup he is the one doing it. Who we are.

IT support and cyber security in Barry

Two things most people come to us for, and a handful of others clients ask us to take on once they would rather ring one number than four.

We hold Cyber Essentials ourselves and we take clients through it to both levels, Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus. The full cost is laid out at the start, including what the certifying body charges.

Secure AI

AI your staff can use without leaking the business

People are already pasting company information into AI tools, whether it is sanctioned or not. We put something in place that they can use safely, with the controls and the visibility that the free tools do not give you. We start by auditing what those tools would currently be able to reach inside your business, which is almost always more than anyone expects.

Everything else we do

Who we look after in Barry

Two Barry businesses, and neither is an office job

Two we can describe. A heating and air conditioning contractor across three offices, and a plumbing business of eight people whose work happens in other people’s houses. Nobody is named on this site until they have read what it says and agreed to it, so the work gets described and the company does not.

A heating and air conditioning contractor

Twenty five staff, an office in Barry and two more in London and the Midlands, and seven people who work from home permanently and never come into any of them. We took them on in August 2026.

The first month was the part worth describing. A fleet still running Windows 10, some of which could not take Windows 11 whatever anybody did to it, so those were replaced and the rest were upgraded. Licences brought back into a state somebody understands, and new software put in where people were doing a job by hand. Round the clock monitoring and vulnerability scanning added across the estate. Their iPads and mobiles brought under the same management as the laptops, because a phone with company mail on it is a company device whoever paid for it. Then Cyber Essentials, with everything that would have failed dealt with before anybody paid an assessment fee.

What Cyber Essentials involves

A plumbing business, eight people

Job sheets, customer addresses and card details were sitting on engineers’ personal phones, on personal accounts, with no way to remove any of it if a phone was lost or somebody left. That is a data breach waiting for a bad afternoon, and it is extremely common in trades where the phone is the office.

Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Intune sorted it. The work data is managed and can be wiped on its own without touching anybody’s photographs, and a lost phone is now an inconvenience rather than a notifiable incident.

Questions

The things Barry businesses ask first

Do you provide IT support in Barry?

Yes, and we have done for over a decade. We are based in Cardiff and cover Barry and the wider Vale of Glamorgan, with unlimited remote and on site support included from our Essential level upwards rather than charged by the visit.

How much does IT support cost in Barry?

A fixed monthly fee per user, published in full on the pricing page across three levels, with no hourly billing and no call out charges. What changes the number is how many people you have and which level you need, not where in South Wales you are. Very few providers publish a figure at all, so ask each one you speak to for a per user price and what sits outside it.

Do you come out to Barry, or is it all remote?

Both, and visits are included rather than billed. Realistically most faults are fixed remotely within minutes of being reported, because that is faster for you than waiting for somebody to drive over. New starters, hardware swaps, moves and anything physical are the ones worth doing in person, and for those we come to you.

Do you cover the rest of the Vale of Glamorgan?

Yes. Barry, Penarth, Dinas Powys, Cowbridge, Llantwit Major and the villages between them are all a short drive, and the whole of the Vale is inside the area we work in day to day. There is no travel charge and no zone map.

We are still running Windows 10. How bad is that?

Bad enough to be the first thing to deal with. Security updates stopped on 14 October 2025, so those machines have been unpatched for close to a year, they will fail a Cyber Essentials assessment, and most insurers ask whether your systems are supported. Some machines upgrade to Windows 11 in place and some cannot take it at all, which comes down to the processor generation and the security chip on the board. Which is which is an audit rather than a guess, and it turns a nasty surprise into a replacement schedule you can spread across a year. Source: Microsoft, Windows 10 lifecycle.

We have offices outside Wales as well. Can you cover those?

Yes, and we already do. One Barry client runs offices in London and the Midlands alongside the one here, with seven people working from home permanently. Nearly everything is delivered remotely, so the question that matters is whether every site is set up and monitored the same way. Three offices running three different setups is the problem worth fixing.

We already have an IT provider. What does switching involve?

Less than people expect, and none of it needs to happen in a hurry. We audit what you have first and tell you what we would change and in what order, so you see the plan before you commit. Notice periods, admin access and the handover of licences and domains are the parts that need care, and we do that work rather than handing you a list.

Do you provide cyber security in Barry as well as IT support?

Yes, and it is the other half of what we do. Managed detection and response with a security operations centre reading the alerts around the clock, email security sitting inside Microsoft 365, DNS and browser protection, and email authentication with SPF, DKIM and DMARC. All of that comes in at our Secure level rather than being sold as a separate contract. Security awareness training is included on Secure+ and available as its own line below that, and Cyber Essentials certification is priced on top when a client or a contract asks for it. What the security layer covers.
